81: Word menus - restoring to default

Early versions of Sibelius store word menus in the registry (Windows) and the Preferences folder (Mac). Sibelius 5 stores these in the user's area.

To restore default word menus:

Sibelius 4 and 5

• If Sibelius is open, quit Sibelius. Go to:
• Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5 (or 4)
• Windows Vista: C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5 (or 4)
• Mac OS X: /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Sibelius Software/Sibelius 5 (or 4)
• Select the Music Terms folder and delete it. When you restart Sibelius it will reload the default word menus.

Sibelius 2 and 3

• On Mac: If Sibelius is open, quit Sibelius. Go to your /Users/your username/Library/Preferences/Sibelius Preferences and delete the Music Terms file by dragging it to the trash. Empty the trash. When you restart Sibelius it will reload the default word menus.
• On Windows:
  • Go to Start > Run and type regedit, then hit Return
  • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Sibelius Software/Sibelius/Preferences
  • Select the Music Terms folder in the list and then hit Delete. If prompted whether you want to delete this item, click Yes.
• Restart Sibelius
