64: Problems installing Sibelius (Windows)

Problem: The Sibelius installer halts when it tries to install the example scores, with an error message that "Avant garde.sib" cannot be opened.

Solution: Change where Windows thinks the My Documents folder is located: run the registry editor (e.g. click the Start button, choose Run and type regedit then click OK). In the registry editor, find the 'folder' HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current version/Explorer/Shell folders. Double click My Documents inside this (if it's there) and set the value to be a path to somewhere on the C drive (e.g. just 'C:' might do, or you could create a My Documents folder and type the path to that). Also double-click Personal (if it's there) and do the same.

Note that this behaviour is fixed in Sibelius 2 and therefore later versions. Get an upgrade.
