511: Groovy's playback is distorted or bubbly

Problem

The audio on Groovy Shapes, Jungle and City can sound as though it's underwater, or very distorted on some Windows computers, laptops in particular.

Solution

Have a copy of QuickTime running on your computer before starting Groovy. Firstly, check that you do, in fact, have QuickTime installed on your computer. Do this by clicking Start and then All Programs and examining the list of installed programs. If you do not have QuickTime installed, click here to get a copy; it is a free download.

Once QuickTime is installed, start it before starting Groovy Shapes, Jungle or City. QuickTime just needs to have a window open in the background and the audio playback from Groovy should be smooth and clear.

Note: Your version of QuickTime needs to be version 7.0 or later. If it is a previous version, you can download the latest version from Apple's web site.

The Groovy developers are looking into a more permanent fix but the above should work. If you have any queries please contact Sibelius Technical Help by clicking the button to the right.
