I want to put some examples of kinds of notation, e.g. crossed heads, on a blank page. How can I do this?

One way is to use a normal music page, apply an Instrument Change to 'No instrument (hidden)' and use normal notation on the invisible stave.

Another is to install the Metrico or Ambitus font, specifically designed to construct notation as text.
