Bug in Sibelius 8.5 - crashes when appending score

v8.5 Mac on Sierra. I'm attempting to append a score to the new score I'm working on. I select the score and when I click the Open button--crash! This is consistent behavior with all scores--I can't append.

I just tried appending a copy of a score to itself in Windows 10 and it worked OK. Just curious - are you using the new new variable staff sizes or is it failing for even straightforward new scores?

Try appending a different score?

The ones that crashed for me use no changed staff sizes. Though the way these are defined and stored does seem a possible culprit.

Bob, this is failing with straightforward scores, not using any of the new features. I've tried appending scores created in 8.4.2 to a score created in 8.4.2 with the same results.

If it's any use, a workaround is to have an empty bar at the end of the first piece. Have both scores open and use a system select-copy-paste to copy the next score onto the empty bar (this will move over to the end of the inserted bars and you will keep your KS/TS and any system text).

I wonder if heads will roll for this new broken routine!

You don't even need an empty bar. You can Paste onto a barline.

I am having the same problem. (8.5 Windows 10) Upon attempting to append two scores with identical instrumentation, it crashes. I have title pages on each score, could this be the problem?

I have happily spent a number of hours recently appending a total of 14 scores into one large publication. Each score had its own title and composer in the appropriate text styles and they appended with no issues. This is on Win 10 x64 and Sib 8.5.

Append is still crashing Sibelius.
I used to do this manually but it takes time and a lot of messing about.
Please sort it out or maybe give us a partial refund.
This has been going on for months now.
